TDNotebook employs top of the line security to ensure you are the only person able to access your account. Our multi-layered sign in process drastically reduces the risk of unwanted parties accessing the sensitive information in your case. To view your case security settings, click on your name at the top right of the window within TDNotebook. In this area you can view the different security questions and phrases we use to ensure your account is locked to anyone else.

The case Administrator has the power to invite and remove team members from the case, while also giving invited team members specific roles that only allow them to access certain parts of the case. To view your administrator options, click on the Admin Tools tab within the Dashboard in TDNotebook.

Yes! Send email invitations to people you want to grant access to your case from the Admin Tools tab in the Dashboard. The invitation will help them create a TDNotebook account and they will then be able to view your case.
When logging in, click the Authorize this Computer checkbox. This option deactivates the security questions when logging in on the same computer. There is an option when logging in to also deauthorize, once it has been authorized.
Yes, there is now an option to delete cases under the File menu.
There is currently no sample case available for TDNotebook.
TDNotebook operates in the Cloud. Any updates or changes are automatically initiated every time you sign in.
Clicking the Reset button under the Filter tab will reset event filtering. Unchecking the boxes will not reset the filter. To re-enable Reset, select a checkbox and then click Reset.
Currently, TDNotebook does not offer the option to present your material directly in TDNotebook. You can make all the annotations and markups you need to your documents. Then, when you are ready to present, send your items to TrialDirector using the TDNotebook Inbox. You can then present your items in TrialDirector.
Use the Clip Manager in the Explorer by clicking Transcripts, Clips, and choose Open Clip Manager. Here, you can begin entering page and line references and creating segments for your clip. You can also create clips directly from your transcript. Highlight the area you want to create a clip from, right click on the highlighted area and click Create a New Clip. You may also select Add to Existing Clip, but you must begin creating a clip from the transcript before the Add to Existing Clip option will work. For more information, see the User Guide in the Resources tab in the Dashboard.
There could be a number of reasons for this error that have to do with your internet service or computer settings. Determine if there is something that may be causing an interruption to your internet service. Also, consider increasing the time it takes for your computer to go to sleep or hibernate, as this may cause an interruption to your signal.
Throughout TDNotebook, you will see standard add, remove and edit options that allow you to upload items to your case. To add document, multimedia or transcripts, go the corresponding option in the menu bar and choose the upload option there. For example, click Documents, and choose Upload Document(s).... Then, follow the instructions in the window that appears. You may also use the Case panel in the Explorer. Right click on the Documents, Multimedia, or Transcripts folder and select the upload option. You can also use a separate install called the TDNotebook Import Utility to upload load files such as .oll files to your case. TDNotebook is meant to be an intuitive and easy to use tool. Aside from importing documents, multimedia and transcripts, TDNotebook allows you to import logistical information as well to the Dashboard. To import a calendar, click on the Import button within the Events tab in the Dashboard and follow the instructions given. To add third party contacts, click on the People tab, click Import and follow the instructions. See the User Guide: Dashboard for more information.
Click on the Apply Changes button before you close the Document Manager window. Selecting the Resequence tab will also remind you that changes have been made and allow you to save before exiting. Closing the tab X, will not save any changes you have made, nor provide you with a reminder to do so.
A red refresh icon indicates changes have been made to the case by you or someone else who has access to the case, but those changes are not yet reflected in certain areas. Click the red refresh icon to update any changes.
Search for a file using the Gridview Explorer. Go to View in the menu bar and click on Open Gridview Explorer.... In the filter area, enter a keyword or number, check the data types and fields you wish to search and click Apply.
To view am item from the Gridview Explorer either double click on the itesm, or right-click on the item and select Present Item.
No. The width of the column will automatically re-size to accommodate the size of the window. This may truncate the column headers. Therefore, you can re-size the column width by dragging the vertical dividers left or right with your mouse. Alternatively, you can temporarily hide some of the columns from view by right-clicking on the grid and selecting Grid View Columns > Hide…
This depends on what program you our importing your files into first, TrialDirector or TDNotebook, and their respective location. Any documents, transcripts, video files imported into TrialDirector first, will retain their original file path when transferred to TDNotebook. When files are imported into TDNotebook and later downloaded to TrialDirector, they will be copied into a TDNotebook folder in your TrialDirector case database. File paths for these files will be directed to this folder and any related subfolders.
The contents of all folders in the TDNotebook inBox will upload to TrialDirector. However, it will not retain the folders.
In the workbooks panel, there is another tab named TrialDirector where your inbox is located. Un-dock the TrialDirector tab by dragging and dropping the tab to another location on the window. The Trial Director tab should now appear as its own panel floating on the screen. Now, drag and drop items from your workbooks to your TrialDirector inbox.
Its possible that you are entering an Item ID, Exhibit ID, Trial Exhibit, or Common Name that already exists.
Go to the Gridview Explorer from the View menu bar and edit the cells there. Alternatively, right click on the item and select Properties.
